There are changes afoot on a popular stretch of WA’s Turquoise Coast where a massive redevelopment of four camping destinations between Jurien Bay and Kalbarri is currently taking place. In response to overwhelming visitation from self-sufficient travellers and a $1.5 million injection from the State Government’s Royalties for Regions fund, construction work has begun on two new campgrounds, while others in the region will be improved and expanded to keep caravanners, campers and motorhomers local for longer.
The long weekend in June was set aside as an Association event with the purpose of not only getting as large a collection of affiliated clubs as possible but also to provide the Albany 4WD Club with a working example of how the Association functions. The weather to the lead up of this event wasn’t shaping up too well with 40‐50 knot winds the day before with consistent heavy rain.
Well, the sun came out and the day ended up being just perfect for the event.
