Avon Valley Cookout 2018

“Dégustation is the careful, appreciative tasting of various foods, focusing on the gustatory system, the senses, high culinary art and good company. Dégustation is more likely to involve sampling small portions of all of a chef’s signature dishes in one sitting…”    Wikipaedia

And for us that one sitting lasted a couple of days..!!

Roast Pork with crackling that worked..by Muzz

DATE:  22 Jun 2018 to 24 Jun 2018  (Give or take others staying longer)

TRIP LEADER :  Rob Nankiville

CO TRIP LEADER:  Glenn Bignell.

THE COMPANY:   25 Adults and 6 kids in 14 “camping options”

The corned beef / silverside was ‘just done’ restaurant quality, the pork spare ribs meat fell off the bones, a Thai water chestnut/ bamboo shoot vege dish was sensational,  beef curries just right heat and soooo flavoursome.

Savoury flat breads,  dampers, sweet and savoury,  baked cottage loaf dip,  filo cheese and spinach roll,   cakes,  slices.

More dishes emerged from caravans cooked “in house”. …

A weekend restaurant crawl?   No… the Mitsubishi Club’s annual long weekend Avon National Park Camping.

Ces Barrows Camping Ground

This weekend is not a four wheel driving event  as we do a lot of those every other month,  so we were pleased to drive in on a gravel road  recently graded.

We find that during day trips and club meetings members don’t always have opportunities to catch up each other in an unrushed relaxed  atmosphere.

A trailer load of demolition wood keeps the fires going

This event is one of our trips that allows time to catch up…with some good food thrown in.  No schedules ruling our heads , we all cooked and ate when we felt like it or didn’t cook at all…but definitely ate.

Children (and big Kid) entertained themselves.

Raise just 1 bonnet……????

Campfires, comfy chairs, wine , beer,  food.  no rain .!!!!

What more could we want.
