The Mitsubishi 4WD Owners Club of WA is a member of TrackCare.
A project has recently been endorsed by the Trackcare Executive which we hope you will find interesting and want to be a part of.
You will be aware of the massive bushfires that decimated vast farm lands in the Esperance area recently. The project involves going down there and helping them install fences etc so they can get back on their feet. There is a volunteer organisation called Blaze Aid who have been doing some fantastic work across Australia in recent years helping regional communities in getting back on their feet following bushfires or floods.
Working alongside the rural families, you will help to rebuild fences and other structures that have been damaged or destroyed. Equally important, you will also help to lift the spirits of people who are facing devastating losses through bushfires.
The plan is to travel Sunday 7 February. The town oval (Coolgardie-Esperance Hwy) is the main camp for volunteers.
As Trackcare members…we will have the following:
Use of the oval facilities (water, showers and toilets).
No power is available.
All meals will be provided.
As you would expect, you will need work boots, long shirt, long trousers and a broad brimmed hat (closest shops and chemist is in Esperance). Because we have the capacity and skills to work remotely, we may be located away from the oval.
There is no time frame for the project – you can stay as long as you are able to.
In addition, if the timing doesn’t suit, you can go down whenever you wish. The project will be going for months and every little bit will help.
Please contact email@example.com or ring them on 0418 745 994 if you take this option.
Conversely, or as well as, you can make Tax Deductible Donation.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to express your interest. Once some rough numbers are known, we will liaise with the Blaze Aid co-ordinators and work out the final details.
