KULIN BUSH RACES & TIN HORSE HIGHWAY

Trip Leader: Kim Graieg
Date: 4 to 6th October 2019
Eight club members met in Kulin township on Friday lunchtime and travelled out to the race track along the Tin Horse Highway.
This year was the 25th Anniversary of the Kulin Bush Races, it was a complete sell out this year.
The camp ground was almost at capacity by the time we arrived but we managed to find a spot and tucked in behind the dam at the far end. The weather was hideous on Friday evening so we all squirreled into our own individual accommodation to have our tea and retire for the night.
Saturday morning dawned to a new day ready for the races and other activities. We set up camp at a table in the main marque for the day.
There were plenty of activities to keep us amused between each race. The Perth Highland Band, Voting on the Tin Horses entered into the competition for this year, Helicopter joy flights, army vehicle parade, we ran our own sweep for the Kulin cup, and ran our own Tote at the table to save queuing. Most of us enjoyed a small win.
There was a fabulous fireworks display at 8.30, some ventured up to hear the live band and others stayed and had a quiet time by the fire.
Sunday morning a quick breakfast and headed for home. A most enjoyable weekend.
