In Brief – Lancelin Trip, 15 February 2015

Meeting point: McDonalds Wanneroo – 8:30 am for 9:00 departure

10:15 – arrived at Lancelin Bakery after a nice quiet drive – aired down
10:45 – left the bakery for the sand dunes
11:00 – after a “warm up” over some easy “obstacles”, all were given brief instructions for driving on sand dunes
11:30 – first bog of the day, stuck on top of a sand dune trying to go down
11:45 – got them out of the first bog and continued the trip
12:00 – after a bit of fun down a steep slope, second bog of the day happened (same car as first time). This time it happened on the way up the sand dune.
12.10 – got out of this second “situation” but didn’t take long to get bogged for the third time. Coincidentally it was the same vehicle as previous two times. This time the bogged vehicle got out of trouble without any help, just by letting tyres down more.
12:45 – on top of the world (the highest dune) – The very soft tyres have proved costly for our “bog specialist” as one tyre has gone completely flat. Pumped it up and got on our way towards the lunch area.
13: 00 – just before getting off the sand dunes the same tyre was flat again. This time the real problem was identified – a wheel puncture.  We got to the park where lunch was enjoyed by all.

Around 14:00 the party started to disassemble and some went home, whilst other charged at the sand dunes for the second time.

We are waiting for the stories from this part as the undersigned storyteller has left for home.
